  1. Digital Clock 1.1 - A 32-bit digital clock program written for the OS/2 2.1 PM
  2. environment

  12. This version replaces Clock 1.0.  New features added are support for 24-bit 
  13. color, and an improved method of choosing colors using slider controls. 
  14. Unfortunately I couldn't get this to work properly with the sample box on
  15. the Font dialog, so that color depth is still limited to 16-color. Also apply
  16. buttons have been added to some dialogs so you can see changes without 
  17. dismissing the dialog.  The problem with the Font dialog appearing partially off
  18. screen in Clock 1.0 has been fixed.

  20. How to use Digital Clock 1.1:
  21.  
  22. 1.      Unzip the DCLOCK11.ZIP archive in a directory of your choice.  If you 
  23.         are reading this, then you have already done so, or it has been done for
  24.         you.
  25.  
  26. 2.      Run the executable DCLOCK11.EXE, or equivalently, create a program
  27.         object which refers to the executable wherever you would like it, and 
  28.         run that.
  29.  
  30. 3.      The first time you run the program, it will start with a set of default
  31.         display parameters.  To change the display, call up the pop-up menu by 
  32.         clicking the right mouse button anywhere on the clock face.  From here 
  33.         you can call several dialogs that allow you set the way the time is 
  34.         displayed, as well as Clock's performance options.  These dialogs are as
  35.         follows:

  37.         Options...  Contains the Display Format and Stay On Top controls. 
  38.         Display Format allows you to choose whether seconds are displayed, 
  39.         whether the am/pm indicator is displayed, or to display the time in 
  40.         24-hr format.  The am/pm indicator option is not available if 24-hr time
  41.         is on.  The display sleep time is the time in milliseconds that the time
  42.         display update thread waits before checking to see if the display needs
  43.         to be updated.  Smaller values eat up more processor time.  
  44.         Stay On Top allows you to enable/disable the stay on top option, and set
  45.         the time in milliseconds that the Stay On Top thread waits before 
  46.         asserting Clock's window to the top.
  47.  
  48.         Font...  Allows you to chose the display font from fonts installed on
  49.         your system.
  50.  
  51.         Colors...  Allows you to set the foreground and background RGB values 
  52.         via three slider controls.  When running at less than 24-bit color, the 
  53.         RGB values are mapped to the closest color available on your hardware.

  55.         Set Time...  Allows you to set your computer's system time and date.
  56.  
  57.         In addition, Clock's display colors can be set from the pop-up menu.
  58.         Currently the window is not automatically sized for the chosen font.  If
  59.         you choose a point size that is too big, the time may not display.  You 
  60.         will need to resize the window manually to make the display come back. 
  61.         You can move Clock by clicking the left mouse button anywhere on the 
  62.         clock face and dragging the frame.

  64. 4.      When Digital Clock 1.1 terminates, either by you choosing Exit from the
  65.         pop-up menu or when the system is shut down, all display parameters are
  66.         saved in the file DCLOCK11.INI, and are loaded the next time Digital
  67.         Clock 1.1 is run.

  69. Digital Clock 1.1 is freeware.  You are free to distribute this program provided
  70. this documentation accompanies the executable, and that neither file is modified
  71. in any way.
